In den Warenkorbpaperback. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Two vintage black-and-white studio still photographs from the 1984 television film. Tennessee Williams' sharp little play is translated to television in this version starring Jessica Lange as Maggie and Tommy Lee Jones as Brick. Set on an estate in Mississippi, the story follows a vicious web of lies between members of the Pollitt family. Maggie is desperate, believing her husband Brick to be secretly gay, a suspicion spurred by his lack of interest in her and his depression following a close male friend's suicide. Big Daddy and Big Mama, the family patriarch and matriarch, are misled by the others about the state of Big Daddy's declining health. All of the deceit culminates in a night of explosive confrontation. In one photograph, we see Maggie (Lange) desperately entreating Brick (Jones). 10 x 8 inches. Two red manuscript annotations on the recto and one on the verso of one image, else Near Fine.

Two borderless photographs from the 1981 film. One photo with a snipe attached to the verso. Directed by Bob Rafelson, and based on the 1939 novel by James M. Cain, "Postman" was one of the gems of late 1970s cinema (along with "The Verdict"), and brought David Mamet to the attention of the filmmaking world, leading to his working not only as a screenwriter but an important director. Mamet's grim update of Cain's classic hard-boiled novel was somewhat panned on release, but is today held in high regard, and is considered a major influence on the genre. Photographs 8 x 10 inches.
