Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some mild marking and tanning. Unclipped jacket has light edge wear with minor chipping and creasing. Some tanning and foxing to all surfaces, particularly to spine.

Dust jacket is poor, but is now housed in a protective sleeve; Front flap is detached and there are numerous creases, tears and small sections of loss, plus a few small ink marks and signs of rubbing. The book itself is better, but does have a lean to the spine and the page edges and end-papers are spotted. Has a previous owner's inscription (name and date) to the front end-paper, along with Jack Carrington's signature ("Wishing you success / Jack Carrington / 27-10-50") and that of Johnny Leach ("With all best wishes / Johnny Leach"). Leach has also signed the rear end-paper ("With all best wishes / Johnny Leach"). Also included is a small two page note from Carrington to the previous owner, plus an admission ticket to the 1950 National County Table Tennis Championships. Signed by Author(s).
