Eberhard, vormals lutherischer Pastor in Amerika und Australien" (Titel). Nach dem Titel gedruckte Empfehlungs-Briefe von John Ireland (Archbishop of St. Paul) und Fred. X. Katzer (Erzbischof von Milwaukee). Sein eigenes Lebensbild und der Weg vom evangelischen (protestantischen) Glauben zum Katholizismus nimmt Martin Johann Eberhard zum Inhalt des Werkes. Er ist geboren zu Laage (Mecklenburg-Schwerin) und wuchs in Neubukow auf. Sein inneres religiöses Leben in Mecklenburg (Landeskirche) als Jugendlicher wird dargestellt, besuchte das Gymnasium zu Schwerin und ging auf Grund eines Aufrufes des sog. "Mecklenburgischer Gotteskasten" 1873 nach Amerika, studierte an der Iowa-Synode zu St. Sebald (Clayton County). War dann Prediger in Waverly, Eden (Buffalo-Synode), ging dann nach Bethanien (Queensland), sodann nach Philadelphia und Elkana bei Beenleigh, sowie nach Charters Towers als Prediger und nahm seinen Abschied als Prediger in Brisbane um wieder mit seine Familien nach Deutschland zu kommen, versah den Dienst in Breslau und kehrte nach Davenport zurück, um Katholik zu werden. War dann Lehrer in Constance (Nebraska) und Lehrer zu St. Charles (Nebr.).
