This set is from the library of noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024), with his pictorial bookplates to front pastedowns of all four pastedowns. Volumes I & II, Volumes III & IV, and Volume VI all have modest shelf-wear with light shelf-soil to covers and edges of textblock; Very Good. First published as a private issue (1879-1915), this Facsimile Edition includes a new introduction by Francis Robicsek, and focuses on the natural history of Mexico and Central America.
