A collection of verse in Scots (as popposed to an anthology of Scottish poems) starting with anonymous verse of the 1300s through to poets born in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Also includes a glossary of early Scots and modern Scots. Condition: A good solid copy, though the spine has a water-stain and is faded, and a few spots of fraying to the rear joint. The contents are very good. Signed by notable previous own.

This is the 3rd and final volume of the 'Atlas of the Bryophytes of Geat Britain and Ireland' and covers the Mosses belonging solely to the Diplolepideae: those in the isolated classes Sphagnopsida and Andreacopsida, as well as nine orders of the Bryopsida are covered in Volume2; the Liverworts are treated in Volume 1. The 10-Km dot-distribution maps are the result of a 30 year survey by members of the British Bryological Society. 366 species and 12 subspecies or varieties are represented on the 378 distribution maps, each accompanied by notes on its habitat, reproductive biology and overseas distribution. The introductory chapter is entitled 'A Numerical Analysis of the Distribution of Liverworts in Great Britain'. The book is bound in laninated boards and is in near fine condition. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.
