However on the reverse side of the frontispiece, which is the page following t…he endpaper, a previous owner has placed a dried maple leaf (?) and laid a sheet of non- removable clear plastic over the page They have also cut out the top half of the front free endpaper opoosite to reveal most of the leaf on opening the book. The remaining part of the endpaper facing opposite, has another smaller leaf fixed in place with the same clear plastic sheet, and on the reverse of this writing which read in order from top to bottom. First the autors signature. Below this a dedication also signed by the author " With every fond wish to my friends the Mansells. October 1971" Plus below this, a line initialled by the author " Jem died December 2nd 1976 ". The book is V.G. in a Poor chipped and repaired d/w with 5cm loss to toe of spine , and now in removable clear wrap. Signed by Author(s).
