Biographical Information on Report Authors. Abbreviations. Format is approximately 8.5 inches by 11 inches. The team was tasked to perform an independent business case analysis of weapons surveillance and evaluation facility alternatives for NNSA's Pantex plant. The team developed quantitative and qualitative data for a set of alternatives ranging from not building a weapons surveillance and evaluation facility to building a full capacity-sized facility. Surveillance is the process of inspecting a weapon through various tests of the weapon as a whole, the weapon's components, and the weapon's materials to determine whether they are meeting performance expectations, through dismantling the weapon or through the use of diagnostic tools. The Pantex Plant is the primary United States nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility that aims to maintain the safety, security and reliability of the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile. The facility is located on a 16,000 acre site 17 miles northeast of Amarillo, Texas. The plant is managed and operated for the United States Department of Energy by Consolidated Nuclear Security. Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS) is composed of member companies Bechtel National, Inc., Leidos, Inc., Orbital ATK, Inc, and SOC LLC, with Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. as a teaming subcontractor. CNS also operates the Y-12 National Security Complex. The plant and its grounds are strictly controlled and off-limits to all civilians, and the airspace above and around the plant is prohibited to civilian air traffic by the FAA as Prohibited Area P-47.

Manuskript / Papierantiquität Erstausgabe
Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. New York: The New School for Social Research, 1964. Pictorial broadside flyer (34x24cm). Light wear and smudging.Small tear at right edge; small punctures at top edge, likely a result of pushpins. Verso toned. Folded once vertically and three times horizontally, possibly for mailing. A Very Good copy of this scarce piece of experimental music ephemera. Visually compelling poster announcing a performance by avant-garde composers and musicians, including John Cage, Earle Brown, Philip Corner, Malcolm Goldstein, James Tenney, Carl Ruggles, and Charles Ives. Something of a homecoming for Cage, who taught courses in experimental music at the New School between 1956?1961. Designed by Carolee Schneeman, primarily a performance artist involved in New York's Downtown scene. In the early 60s, Schneeman and Cage were introduced by Schneeman's partner, James Tenney, who also participated in this concert. Schneeman and Cage fostered a fruitful artistic relationship that lasted for the remainder of their careers. As of April 2026, we locate no separately cataloged copies in OCLC. "John Cage," Histories of the New School.
