This presents findings and recommendations from the League of Nations' Commission of Enquiry, formed in March 1932 to resolve the outstanding question of the boundary between the British Mandate of Iraq, and the French Mandate of Syria. Colonel Frederic Iselin, Commander, Swiss Second Artillery Brigade was appointed Chair following the accidental death of Swiss Colonel James de Reynier. Its other members were Pedro Marrades (Spanish Commercial Attache in Berlin, formerly Consul at Damascus, Jerusalem, Beirut and Sete), and Carl Petersen (a Swedish section head at the International League of Red Cross Societies). They worked with Assessors on the Franco-Syrian side (Squardon-Leader Bonnot and Nassib Bey Ayoubi) and the Anglo-Iraqi side (Major CJ Evans and Colonel Sahib Bey Nejib DG of the Iraq Police). Between them they defined 6 geographical sectors and camp locations, conducting fieldwork during April-May, reassembling in Beirut in May where they drew up their conclusions.
