In den WarenkorbPictorial cloth. First Italian Edition of Junkie. A little spotting or browning to cloth and text, otherwise a very nice copy with the original narrow wraparound band ("droga: resoconto consapevole di uno scrittore . La scimmia"), glassine dust-wrapper (a little chipped and torn), publisher's bookmark loosely inserted and publisher's label on rear pastedown Maynard and Miles D30 The text is followed by "Una cura che elimina la tossicomania" which was written by Burroughs in Cambridge in 1961 and circulated in typescript and photocopy form. "WSB gave Fernanda Pivano a copy shortly after it was written, and this Italian translation of it is the only published form of that text" (later versions appeared in Health Bulletin, The New Statesman and the English edition of The Soft Machine).
Introduction by William S. Burroughs (illustrator). A fine copy in an equally fine d/j. 8vo., black boards in dust jacket; 186 pages Very scarce first edition, first printing. Brion Gysin [19161986] was a British-Canadian painter, writer, sound poet, performance artist and inventor of experimental devices. "The Last Museum" is a fantastical and nearly inaccessible last novel from Gysin, who was a friend of and collaborator with William S. Burroughs, and who here appears to be re-writing Naked Lunch. Derivative, obscure, and filled with in-jokes from another era, Burroughs said that Gysin "was the only man I ever respected." A very scarce book!.
