Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Wrappers. First (only) edition. Wrappers, small 8vo, 62 pp Principal contributors are Mary Hamilton and Louise Inghram, who give very detailed accounts of their experiences. Hamilton and Inghram were arrested in Jackson, Mississippi. Booklet also includes commentary by Raya Dunayevskaya, a former associate of C. L. R. James in Trotskyist politics, and shorter accounts by Charles Denby and other Freedom Riders and civil rights workers who are not fully identified. Charles Denby was a pseudonym used by Simon Peter Owens, who also wrote as Matthew Ward. Under the Denby pseudonym he wrote an autobiography, Indignant Heart, that was published in 1952 and has subsequently been reprinted by the Wayne State University Press. Denby was involved in labor struggles in Detroit. Good condition, back cover has a chip in the upper right corner about an inch long by a half-inch wide, the same chip goes around to the front cover, but much more narrowly. Very scarce.
