Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Original brown printed staple bound wraps. Pp240-256 including 2 figures + Plates XIX - XXVIII containing b/w photos and drawings. Wraps good only, with some marks, minor loss, tears down spine, and a patch of scuffing to the back. Binding secure. Interiors fine and clean with some spotting. Presentation of latest findings from the expedition led by JL Starkey at Lachish, between Mount Hebron and the coast. Starkey had recently been killed by bandits on the road between his camp and Jerusalem, and his team were determined to continue the work (p240). Given at the Wellcome Research Institute, London, 11 July 1938.
