Dark chocolate endpapers. Tipped in before the title page is a presentation slip in ink in a clear hand - ' 14th February 1865 (?). From His Highness Prince Azeem Jah [1797 - 1825] appealing to the justice of the British Legislature and People - By His Highness' Commands ,' and underneath again in ink in a different hand ' John Strutt (?) 2 Adelphi Terrace (name and address possibly of a previous owner.) ' Overall, fine copy of a rare book. An account of the British policy toward the Indian States, with particular reference to Karnataka.
