Fannin, Territorial Clerk, was a pivotal legal official in the Central District during the chaotic transition toward statehood. D.N. Robb, Deputy Clerk, was an influential early white settler, prominent merchant, and civic leader in Atoka. Beyond his court duties, Robb is widely remembered as the longtime Treasurer of the Murrow Indian Orphan Home. Established by the American Baptist Mission, the home provided vital care for orphaned children of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations. Remarkably, the Murrow Home continues to operate today, sustained by the Cherokee Nation and charitable donations.
