Frontispiece illustration of a girl welcoming her mother: "Mother was the first to dismount, and immediately after her tumbled four big girls." Ten illustrations in black and white by Percy Tarrant. Large London County Council Prize label on front pastedown awarded to Nelly Messer for Dressmaking, March 19th, 1909. Very good indeed. A little foxing of prelims.

Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles, and black, white and pink decoration, to spine and upper. Dark brown endpapers. School prize inscription in black ink to reverse of frontispiece, dated 1906. Two plates tipped back in, with some wear to edges. Some toning and spotting to edges. Light general wear to cloth, with some rubbing to colours on spine. Very good.
