Thin pamphlet printed with red text on the front cover, black text elsewhere. 15 p. w/ frontis of the King Hussein the First, and fold out facsimile of the proclamation in Arabic. Light wear to edges and corners, some scuffing and soiling to covers. A pamphlet reproducing on…e of the proclamations that reshaped the Middle East during and after WWI. He aided the Armenians and the British during WWI. Unfortunately Hussein disagreed with British policy after the war and they backed Ibn Saud of Arabia who invaded and took over Hedjaz, ending his reign and that of his son, Ali. Eventually his other son Abdullah became King of the Hashemite Kindgom of Jordan, and his great-great grandson Abdullah II continues to rule there as a constitutional monarch. Uncommon.
