Softcover. Zustand: As New. First Edition. Scarce in the trade, there being few other copies available to the trade currently on-line in this state and condition. An As New condition exemplar of the life and works of William Colenso, published in 2011. Sterling exemplar in softcover format, with unfurled tips, tight bindings, and clean internals, showing no shelf- and edge-wear to the glossy pictorial card-stock wraps. From a publisher's blurb comes "In his more than 200 letters to editors, Colenso wrote mostly for local Hawke's Bay readers. But he was a national celebrity for his opinions, as the clippings from papers outside the Bay scattered through this collection and his widely published obituary notices demonstrate. One correspondent to the Wanganui Herald in January 1882, similarly sympathetic to the plight of Maori, tellingly signed himself, 'COLENSO'S GHOST.' The letters reproduced in this book are all that can be found at present. As well, some other newspaper items have been included if they threw light on the more obscure letters." Give Your Thoughts Life 2011 features a Table of Contents that shows: Introduction; Letters 1847-1859; Letters 1860-1869; Letters 1870-1879; Letters 1880-1889; Letters 1890-1898; The Final Chapter; Index of Letters; [10], 11-497 pp. and with full notes, bibliography and index.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
