In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). First edition. The first edition of this detailed work on the manufacture of Bow porcelain, illustrated beautiful with colour plates showing examples of the porcelain. The first edition of this work. A fascinating work on Bow porcelain. Bow porcelain was a rival of the Chelsea porcelain factory, both factories being the first in England. The designs of Bow porcelain were imitated from imported Chinese and Japanese styles, and catered for the luxury end of the market. The quality of Box porcelain was notoriously uneven. The figures were made by pressing the paste into molds, as opposed to the Chelsea system of slip casting. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and sixty-four plates, seven of which are in colour, the rest being monochrome. Collated, complete. Written by Frank Hurlbutt. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light fading to the spine and boards. Minor marks to the boards and spine. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Very small amount of loss to the tail of the spine, with very small cracks to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots. Very Good. book.
