E2 on leaf no. 3) , F-5 (with F2 as 3rd leaf). This is a negative photostatic print, made Sept 15, 1941, by Charles Humbert (an apparent descendant of t…he original author) , from the copy in the Library of the Historical Society of Pennylvania, Philadelphia. "Very rare: their copy is probably unique. Not in Sabin nor Evans nor the Union Catalogue of the Library of Congress" (This from a typed title page on the book, with these pencil notes: "Custom bound in full brown library buckram, gold stamped. Jonas Humbert appears to have been a baker in New York, and an erudite one, having written this pamphlet, as well as a paper on the importance of regulating the inspection of flour in the state of New York. In addition to the copy of the 1797 pamphlet, there are typed references to the letters of Jonas Humbert to James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and from James Monroe. Only one copy of the original in OCLC 18041002. A very rare copy of an exceedingly rare pamphlet from the early days of the U. S. , with some interesting Americana and provenance. ; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
