Unfortunately we have no such treasures at our disposal. But when trying to decide which inedita from the Leyden University Library would be suitable for publication on this occasion, it was found that there were still unpublished writings by Richard Bentley, the first of the great Cambridge philologists and, according to Housman 'the greatest scholar that England or perhaps that Europe ever bred'. The Leyden Library contains twelve letters by Bentley. - Wikipedia: Richard Bentley FRS (27 January 1662 - 14 July 1742) was an English classical scholar, critic, and theologian. Considered the "founder of historical philology", Bentley is widely credited with establishing the English school of Hellenism.
