Vintage studio still photograph from the 1944 film, showing actors Blanche Yurka and Donald Woods. Based on Thornton Wilder's 1927 novel. The rope bridge leading to the chapel of San Luis Rey in the Andes mountains collapses, violently killing five people and leading a monk at the chapel to investigate the incident. The second of three adaptations of Wilder's novel, preceded by the 1929 silent film directed by Charles Brabin, and followed by the 2004 film directed by Mary McGuckian. Set in Peru. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good, moderately toned, with light soil and wear to the edges.
