Unpaginated, 40pp. Original blue gray cloth with offset lithograph pasted down. 17 offset lithographic prints in a limited edition of 100. "In designing the prints herein, offset lithography has been used as a technique for conception; there are not any originals of which these are reproductions. Each print was conceived as a complex of complementary images to be combined at the press. Colors were mixed and decisions as to the balance among the components were arrived at during the course of the printing which was, with one exception (# 8 was printed on the large web press. It was a last minute variation on #7 and is included for the purpose of comparison), supervised by me. Hence there is a calculated variation among the individual prints made during the proof run. Proof prints printed on small presses using one color at a time have a distinct advantage over the mass produced (four colors in one run) covers, etc., for which these proofs were a preparation" (Howard Warshaw).
