Housed in a custom oak wood slip case with the remains of a torn Mrs Davis label. Provenance: the Davies sisters of Gregynog Hall and by descent via family branch based in Somerset Comments: foxing present on some pages, otherwise fine condition (De Zilverdistel p246-265. 18. Harrop p192-193. 18. Jones p30. 18. Simons p174. 16) *** Harrop notes that only the first 9 copies of the 25 special bindings were by George Fisher, the remainder being similarly bound by John Ewart Bowen at the National Library of Wales in 1952, with the bands of fine lines replaced by a triple rule fillet. Some uneven lifting on front paste down (possible damp damage - not inert) with commensurate marks on front free paste down. Text block edges a little darkened, affect extreme edges of page faces, else internally neat. clean, bright and tight. A fine press selection of poetry of the Welsh aristocrat metaphysical poet, Henry Vaughan (1621-1695). Fair to good condition.
