The work explore the lives of James Wolfe and the Duke of Wellington. Early 20th century reprints of these 19th century biographical works. Two volumes bound in one. This handsome volume is in excellent condition, bound in a full calf binding, with a gilt crest to the front boards which has the motto, 'Schola Grammatica Sydneiensis'. With two interesting military biographies of the lives of James Wolfe and The Duke of Wellington. A G Bradley was a notable British historian, who work of 'Wolfe' was first published in 1895. An incredibly prolific author, this work was one of his earliest published works. The second work featuring in the volume is by George Hooper. Though little is known of this historian, his biographical work offers an interesting perspective of this famous military figure The Duke of Wellington. A charming copy being a lovely example of military biographies from the late 19th century. In a full calf binding, with gilt detail to the spine and boards, with marbles endpapers and fore edge. The odd spot to the front blanks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine. book.
