The book has neither index nor table of contents. It was issued as such. It is a stereotyped edition and commonly called ''The Shepherd's London''. There exists a sequel, ''London in the nineteenth century'', which is not present here (see Bernard Adams ; Shepherd and Elmes's Metropolitan Improvements 1827-30- Text Series 154 as catalogued in London Illustrated 1604-1851).
