Jacket mildly edgeworn and a tad rubbed. Quite tight and nice fourth printing of this well-illustrated how-to (part of their "Little Technical Library" series) from the legendary college basketball coach (1896-1995). Front and rear pastedowns each bear ownership signature of William H. Groves, long-time Professor of Physical Education for Men and coach at Eastern Illinois University (1951-1969). Scarce.

Early Boston Celtics guard, one of the first to achieve double digit scoring; for 37 years coach of the City College of New York team; elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964. Scarce bold signature, dated 1974 May 23, on a special heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p. [New York, NY]. Fine. With original envelope.

First edition, later printing. Very good copy in very good dust jacket with a little rust staining along the edge of the back inside flap. Later (1934) printing (lacks "A" on copyright page, copyright date is 1932. As a long-serving coach at the City College of New York (CCNY) Holman did much to take basketball to national prominence. When we purchased Meyer Liben's library one of his daughters mentioned that he ghost-wrote this book. Indeed, his New York Times obituary mentions that at CCNY he served as an editor and sports reporter, so this is entirely plausible. This copy is not from the Liben collection.

Zustand: Good. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. This issue has some mild wear from ageing and use. Cover edges are quite worn with minor tears and some mild creasing. A heavy tan is present inside due to age, but textblock remains firm and tight. Spine ends have some light loss and mild wear.
