The map opens to a large colour-printed sheet showing Britain and Northern Ireland, with insets including the Orkney and Shetland Islands, the Channel Islands, and air routes. The reverse includes tourist information, regional descriptive panels, road-sign illustrations, and street-map insets of Central London and Central Edinburgh. Front wrapper titled Britain: A map for tourists. A visually appealing piece of British travel ephemera from the early postwar tourism era, combining cartography, graphic design, and practical visitor information. Circa 1961-1963. It has the printed code 61/2.2250 on the back wrapper, and library/catalogue records for this title place editions in the early 1960s, including 1963. Folded: about 9 x 5 inches, Unfolded: about 36 x 27 inches CONDITION: Very good minus. Original self-wrappers present. General rubbing and light creasing to covers, with some corner and edge wear, a small crease/split at lower rear wrapper corner, and light soiling from handling. Map remains complete and bright, with expected fold lines throughout and some associated mild wear at intersections. No major losses seen in the photographs. A clean, displayable example of a fragile folding tourist map.
