He asks whether the recipient's acquaintance might be interested in paintings from the museum depot, mentioning three "qualitatively very fine" pictures that had been listed in earlier catalogues. Hoffmann requests further information about the prospective picture seller, in particular whether he would take the paintings on commission or is himself the buyer, and suggests a visit to the addressee's studio to discuss the matter: "Du wirst gewiß staunen, daß ich Dein lbs. Schreiben vom 10.
