Small quarto, embossed black cloth stamped in gilt; 67 pages. Portrait frontispiece of Hoffecker. Hoffecker (1827-1900) was from Smyrna, Delaware and studied civil engineering. He became a Republican and was president of the Smyrna town council from 1876 to 1898. He unsuccessfully ran for governor but was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1898. During a visit home he suffered a stroke and died on June 16, 1900. This book contains the memorial addresses given in Congress upon his death.
