Originally publishe…d in 1528. Outside the Humanistic significance of the book, the book was previous owned by Sam Steward, indicated by his ex libris pasted on the ffep of an angel and demon. Sam Steward was an American writer and university professor who left the world of academia to become a tattoo artist and pornographer. Steward kept extensive records of his sex life, including diaries, journals, and a stud list. One of the most provocative and charming figures in the 20th century and left an impression on LGBTQ history. Darkening to spine and fore-edges of boards slightly faded, toning to edges, else tight, bright, and unmarred. Red cloth boards with crest to front and gilt lettering to spine. 8vo.
