Illustrated with 98 black and white captioned photos, numerous black and white drawings, and several black and white maps, Including a double page spread at the center which contains a map of the Colorado River aqueduct and a profile of the aqueduct, which shows the various levels along the way (dated April, 1939). Cardstock wrappers printed in black and bound with black cloth tape. Wrappers quite worn and soiled, two missing pages have been REPLACED with a Xerox copy. Some remaining evidence of being a library copy, all photos in fine condition, all drawings in fine condition, all maps in fine condition, else good to near fine with no internal markings. Frank Elwin Weymouth (1874-1941) is recognized as one of America's foremost reclamation and hydraulic engineers. He oversaw construction of most of the great dams built by the United States government in reclamation of arid sections in the western United States. He was the General Manager and Chief Engineer for the Colorado River Aqueduct. Just a comprehensive and detailed narrative of the building of the California River Aqueduct, one of the great pieces of water infrastructure in the United States.…

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Dust Jacket. Volume I, II and III complete. Hardcovers without dust jackets, in very good condition for their age. Boards are slightly scuffed and marked, with some surface colour loss noted. Edges, corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed. Spines are slightly cocked. Page blocks are lightly tanned and blemished. Damp stain to most of the lower pages of Volume III, however this has not affected the legibility. Previous owner's name penned to FEP.
