This is Vol I to Vol X of a 15-volume set on the History of Northumberland, written by four different authors and issued under the direction of the Northumberland County History Committee. All volumes contain a frontispiece, numerous illustrations in the text and a colour map (Vol IV's colour map is a folding map). Vol I contains 14 plates; Vol II contains 21 plates; Vol III contains 15 plates; Vol IV contains 18 plates; Vol V contains 25 plates; Vol VI contains 21 plates; Vol VII contains 17 plates; Vol VIII contains 17 plates; Vol IX contains 6 plates; and Vol X contains 11 plates. Pages are generally bright and clean, but with some spotting to the first few pages, the plates and the fore edge, which affects the occasional page.
