Dean of the Chouinard Art Institute (1960-64), Director of the San Francisco Museum of Art (now SFMoMA (1966-73), Milwaukee Art Museum (1977-85), and the UCLA Wight Art Gallery (1973-77). He is the author of over 60 publications, including books on Lachaise, Nakian, Diebenkorn and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Inscription in ink to verso of front free-endpaper. Joint between endpaper and half-title is cracked. Heavy foxing to contents and some hinges cracked. Otherwise clean. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Postally used with a written address and note inside (signed "HCD," presumably gallery cofounder Helen Director), and a tiny piece of tape residue. Paper tanned with creasing and tiny tears at the edges, pinholes in the top corners, sound and just about very good. A handsome poster advertising a show of sculpture at the important Portland gallery.
