Signed by both the translator and illustrator to the limitations page. In the original full, pictorial cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelf wear. Some fading and marks to the spines. A few light handling marks to the boards of 'Ali Baba' and 'The Ugly Duckling'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Ink signature to the limitations page of 'Ali Baba' and pencil signatures to the limitations page of 'the ugly duckling'. Slipcase is a trifle rubbed. Shelf wear to the edges and cracking to the front corners. Title plate is darkened and chipped. Fine. book.

All illustrations are in color with some hand-colored and some ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPHS. Each is copy #216 of 2500 or 2000 numbered copies with many of the copies signed by the illustrators and/or the editor. The editor has SIGNED nine of the volumes. Illustrators who have SIGNED are Fritz Eichenberg, Everett Gee Jackson, Edward Ardizzone, Rafaello Busoni, Robert Lawson, and Ervine Metzl. Arthur Szyk and Fritz Kredel have not signed. Scarce to find a complete set, especially with all volumes having the same number and in this condition. Near Fine in Near Fine slipcases, one with a worn lower corner.
