All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. An acceptable condition book in Hebrew. An ex-library copy with the usual amount of stamps and also a pair of stamps on the front pastedown and title page belonging to Herman Gollancz, very possibly the same Gollancz who was a British rabbi and Hebrew scholar. Gollancz was the first Jew to earn a doctor of literature degree from London University and the first holder of the degree to be ordained as a rabbi. He was also the first British rabbi to be granted a knighthood when he was knighted in 1923, and the uncle of the famous publisher Victor Gollancz. The book is a reading and reference copy only with a missing spine cover and notable wear and marks to the boards. There is a severe crack beside the rear board hinge that makes it nearly loose, and a lighter one beside the front board. The contents show a typical amount of tanning and age but also remain unfaded and with a fair binding. The page tops are dust darkened and this shows a little along the top margins. The last handful of pages have a slightly more ragged trim to the edges. Not suitable for shelf presentation but fit for purpose, with the added intrigue of being a gift to the library given by a very prominent scholar.
