Einleitung auch engl. und frz. - Nach den Sommerferien 1984 las ich in unmittelbarer Nähe des Martin-Gropius-Baus auf grün-rot-bunt gesprayten Stufen, die bis hinauf zum Mauerende führten: "Mehr Bier, mehr Fleisch,weniger Orwell.Godble$$ 1984". Links und re…chts bizarre menschliche Fabelwesen, deren Lieblingsbeschäftigung fröhliches Gestikulieren zu sein schien. War das noch ernsthafte Warnung oder schon ironische Entwarnung für Orwells makabre Vision? Ende oder Neuanfang der Diskussion des befürchteten Wie und Wo zuerst, in Ost oder West? (Hat damals irgend jemand an Rumänien gedacht?) Die plötzliche Wahrnehmung dieser vielgestaltigen Bilderwelt hatte für mich einen besonderen Grund. Ich dachte über eine Antrittsvorlesung nach, mit der ich meine Lehrtätigkeit an einer Schule für Kommunikationsdesign beginnen wollte. Art und Erscheinungsort der Mauerbilder hielt ich für exemplarisch für das Grundverständnis dieses unsere Medienwelt mitprägenden Fachgebietes. Durch nichts wird es so treffend charakterisiert wie durch die Lasswellsche Formel von 1948: "Wer sagt was, mit welchem Mittel, zu wem mit welcher Wirkung?" Ich kaufte mireinen Fotoapparat,den ersten in meinem Leben. Im Winter 84/85 nahm ich nur die besten und interessantesten Malereien für meinen Vortrag auf. Ich hatte eine große Auswahl zwischen Potsdamer und Mariannenplatz. Wenn ich gewußt hätte, wie schnell sie wieder verschwinden würden, hätte ich ein Dutzend Filme mehr gemacht. Nach dem Vortrag im Juni 1985 war ich regelmäßig mit der Kamera bei"meinen" Bildern, sah, wie sie sich veränderten, verschwanden und wie neue entstanden. Ich fotografierte mit dem Blick des Malers, nahm subjektive Ausschnitte. Es war wie eine Ersatzhandlung,da ich mich von dereigenen Malerei ab-und dem Möbel-und Objektdesign ganz zugewandt hatte. Die Dias waren Zeugnisse von freier und angewandter Kunst, die ich in ein bestimmtes Format brachte,- selten war eine Mauer-Totale, nie waren Maler oder Publikum dabei.
