Early edition, published one year after the first. Complete in two volumes. Handsomely bound in red half calf with matching cloth boards. Both volumes contain a frontispice. Volume I is then followed by eight further plates, and Volume II contains an additional ten plates. Collated, complete. A significant selection from the correspondence and diaries of English Whig politician Thomas Creevey. Creevey is now best remembered as a diarist, his writings providing important insight into the political and social life of the late Georgian era. As edited by the Scottish author and Conservative politician Sir Herbert Maxwell. Handsomely bound in red half calf with matching cloth boards. Externally, very smart with slight bumping and rubbing, resulting in minor loss of leather to the spine heads and tails and the subtle beginnings of cracking to both front joints. Boards relatively clean but do feature a few marks. Internally, firmly bound. Bright and clean with occasional spotting, noticeably heavier to the first and last few pages of each work. Very Good.
