Octavo; 406pp. Two mounted color illustrations (including frontis) with 16 black and white…plates, all present. Publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Boards rubbed with bumping at corners and spine ends, a vertical crease to cloth down center of spine, and a light, inward bow to both at fore-edge. A few pages towards rear dog-eared. Cracks just starting to rear hinge, and textblock opens easily between a few gatherings, but binding is holding soundly. Pages unmarked. Biography of the Arizona Governor, California Senator, explorer, and military officer. [COWAN & COWAN p. 38].
