With papers from some of the leading arctic explorers and historians at the time: Henry Rink published a detailed history of Inuit peoples this same year, and Clements Markham would go on to publish several arctic histories and texts on the Inuit peoples of Greenland. A lovely example. The textblock a touch dust-soiled, else a sharp copy.

Dr. Rink was a prolific author and scholar of the Pacific Northwest and the Arctic. In this publication, Rink discusses the cultural practices of a few different Inuit peoples, including their languages, laws, social hierarchies, religious traditions, livelihoods, arts, music, and medical knowledge. Rink's book includes 150 tales and legends from this region's peoples. Difficult to find in nice condition, this is an exceptional copy. A pencil inscription on the free front endpaper, a Sotheran's booksellers ticket on the verso of the free front endpaper.
