My many current listings of railroad related books are starting to draw some attention and some sales, finally, so how about a few more. Please find one I had been holding back… because of local interest (Central New York), I had to have a look through it first. I am pleased to offer: Fairy Tale Railroad the Golden Chariot Route, by Henry A. Harter. This is the story of The Mohawk and Malone, from the Mohawk, through the Adirondacks to the St. Lawrence. This largish hard cover book (7 ¼ x 10 ¼ inches, 310 pages) was published by North Country Books of Sylvan Beach, New York, dated 1979 and a First Edition (so stated). It is inscribed by the Author on an early page. The book is bound in gray cloth with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. The book is well illustrated with lots of vintage b&w photos of the railroad and its activities. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket, however, has suffered a bit with some light edge wear and a series of wrinkles and tears to the upper 2 inches of its back cover. The inside of the dust jacket along the top is stained, presumably with tobacco smoke but does not smell of same. The hard covers are clean and bright, as are the gilt titles on the spine, except for three small spots of staining on the bottom edge of the front cover. There is a gift inscription just barely legible against the black backdrop of the endpapers as the only other mark beyond that of the Author s inscription. The interior pages and photos are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Signed by Author.
