In den WarenkorbPAPERBACK, attractive copy, very good, little used if at all. HEALY, JERRY. Proceed to Banteer. Thurles: Jeremiah Healy in association with Elo Publications, 1997, xiv, 145pp., . Far from being solely a chronicle of local events, this book also portrays the local, national and international athletic scene of the time. It traces…the history of athletics, from the commencement of organised amateur athletics, the impact which the founding of the GAA had, when 'labourers, artisans and mechanics' were allowed to take their rightful place, and the impact which Irish athletes exerted during this period, particularly in disciplines such as Discus, Hammer, Shot, High, Long and Triple jump, which required an element of both strength and skill. It also examines the election of three County Boards in Cork, simultaneously, the effects of the replayed Dublin versus Cork All Ireland Football Final of 1894, and the real reason why no Irish track or field athletes competed at the first Olympic Games at Athens in 1896, where our sole representation was in tennis. 9780951959398 ISBN 0951959395.

In den WarenkorbSecond Revised Final Draft script for the 1937 film musical. Specially bound copy belonging to screenwriter Jerry Wald, with his name in gilt on the bottom of the front board, with manuscript ink and pencil annotations on eight pages. Jerry Wald is best remembered for his long and successful association with Warner Brothers as b…oth a screenwriter and producer of a number of notable films, including "Mildred Pierce" (1945), "Humoresque" (1946), "Key Largo" (1948), and "Flamingo Road" (1949). In the 1950s he moved to Twentieth Century-Fox, and was the producer there for "An Affair to Remember" (1957), "Peyton Place" (1957), and "Sons and Lovers" (1960). College students rebel when their professor doesn't allow swing music in their varsity show. They enlist the help of an alumni, a big Broadway star, not knowing his last three productions were flops. The film's Busby Berkeley finale was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Dance Direction. Bound in maroon leather, with gilt title on the front board and spine. Distribution page present, with receipt intact. Distribution page integral with the title page, dated 4/23/37, noted as 2ND REV. FINAL. 157 leaves, with last page of text numbered 154.
