The present set has 12 volumes of the limited Laurentian edition, of which 100 to 500 sets of each volume were published, and a 13th volume, plus two indexes, one for volumes I-IV (two sets of it included) and a second more complete one for volumes I-XII. Each volume has its own bibliography and index. Volumes published between 1965-1994. DCB is a dictionary of biographical entries for individuals who have contributed to the history of Canada. It was initiated in 1959, a collaboration between the University of Toronto and Laval University. Fifteen volumes have so far been published with more than 8,400 biographies of individuals who died or whose last known activity fell between the years 1000 and 1930. Quarter Leather and cloth bound boards (except volume 13 which is red hardboard). 10.5 x 7.5 inches. Please ask for shipping quote. CONDITION: The set is in very fine condition, almost new, and all the volumes, are covered in mylar, except volume XIII which has a dustjacket. Top edge of volumes I-XII and the Indexes are gilded. There are numerous plates of maps and portraits throughout volumes I-XII. Pages are clean.
