Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Likely First Edition, title page dated 1882 and no additional printings listed. This copy has a colored frontispiece and two title pages. Tightly bound in bright red cloth with gilded imagery and spine titles. Slight spine slant and a 1" X 3/4" chip missing from the spine head, otherwise the binding is almost near fine. The contents have sepia-toned drawings throughout. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There are no external indications of the library's ownership. A handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp are on the title page and some of the internal pages.

Spine sun-darkened with gilt dulled but letible, light tears/fraing to spine ends, some spotting to covers, good hinges, text block sound but not tight, light foxing to endpapers and half-title, pages a bit age-toned but clean, no names or other markings. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Written by Captain M. E. Haworth. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the original red cloth binding. Externally sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with marks to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine with a 1" split to the rear joint. Front hinge failed with rear hinge held by cords only. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Minor age toning to the endpapers. Good Only. book.
