Tightly bound in bright red cloth with gilded imagery and spine titles. Slight spine slant and a 1" X 3/4" chip missing from the spine head, otherwise the binding is almost near fine. The contents have sepia-toned drawings throughout. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There are no external indications of the library's ownership. A handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp are on the title page and some of the internal pages.

Fading to the spine and board edges with marks to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine with a 1" split to the rear joint. Front hinge failed with rear hinge held by cords only. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Minor age toning to the endpapers. Good Only. book.
