RAFAEL HAUSMANN (1837-1912) "was born in Breslau May 9, 1837, and graduated there in 1864, and pursued training under L. Traube in Berlin. He settled in Meran, where he distinguished himself as a clinician, and became a consulting physician on internal diseases. He contributed to the study of tuberculosis; produced the first inhalation mask (Berlin. Klin. Wcknschr., 1880, XVII:485) and introduced atropin in the treatment of hemoptysis ( Therap.
