"The primary purpose of this book is to provide visitors to the Anchorage vicinity (and citizens as well) ways into the wild country. Some of the trips can be done by anyone on a short afternoon. Others are for experienced, well-equipped hikers and require a long day, a weekend, or more. For any and all there are opportunities here to walk away from roads and campgrounds and see what the real Alaska is all about." [from the Foreword] Photos by William E.
