Zustand: Very good. - Quarto [approximately 11 inches high by 8-5/8 inches wide], softcover. The contents are laid into a reddish brown folding stiff paper case. The spine is slightly faded. The head & tail of the spine & of the rear fold are lightly chipped. The panels are slightly bumped with a very light stain to the top corner of the front panel. Laid into the case, along with a 28-page booklet printed on cream stock, are 8 plates in black & gray. The title page of the booklet is slightly bumped, else the contents are near fine. Very good. Although some oil paintings and watercolors were included in the exhibition, most of the works were etchings, drawings and engravings, as well as theatre and magazine posters.

Reasonable amount of shelf wear for a 100+ year old book, a few small, flat tears and some fingerprints on pages, but good, readable copy and a real treasure for those interested in classic Americana.

Protégé and friend of James McNeill Whistler, who taught him the art of etching, Haskell was an important American artist and illustrator, best known for his etchings and intaglio prints. A superb example of one of his early landscape etchings.
