Disbound from a collected volume, in the original wrappers with all prelims., a very good copy. *MARCUS MANUEL HARTOG (1851 21 January 1924), zoologist and teacher, educated at the North London Collegiate School, University College, London, and Trinity College, Cambridge, thence to Ceylon as assistant to the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, a post that he held for three years. On his return he became demonstrator, and afterwards lecturer, in natural history at Owens College, Manchester. In 1882 he was appointed Professor of Natural History in Queen's College, Cork and in 1909 he proceeded to the chair of Zoology in University College, Cork, retiring in 1921.
