First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the photo-illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping to the corners, the upper board with a small glue mark to the centre, the cloth is otherwise bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's marks. Complete wih the very lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£7.95 net to the lower front flap). Inscribed by the Roald Dahl in black ink on the front endpaper "To Lesley / Love / Roald / Dec. 1983".
