Forty-year old actor Harry Dean Stanton types out the lyrics to the song A Pirate Looks at Forty by the American singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett, no doubt to reflect upon the milestone birthday. With Harry Dean Stanton's stamp to the lower corner; his annotations (the writing in black pen in his hand) and a phone number in pencil, also in the actor's hand. Actor Harry Dean Stanton (Repo Man, Alien, Wild at Heart, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Inland Empire) was also a musician and vocalist, singing folk, blues, country and rock and roll, releasing two albums 'October 1993' with the Cheap Dates (2021) and Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction (2014). Of music, the craggy actor said: 'I had to decide if I wanted to be a singer or an actor. I was always singing. I thought if I could be an actor, I could do all of it.' One sheet, 11 inches by 8.5 inches. Closed edge tears to the borders and creases. Provenance: from the estate of Harry Dean Stanton. Full provenance will be provided.

In den WarenkorbNo Binding. Zustand: Near Fine. Lyrics to the song Mexican Divorce, the Ry Cooder version from Cooder's 1974 album 'Paradise and Lunch', hand-written by Harry Dean Stanton. Harry Dean Stanton and Ry Cooder collaborated on Wim Wenders' 1984 Palme d'Or-winning film 'Paris, Texas' in which Stanton played the lead role, and Ry Cooder provided the iconic and haunting slide guitar musical backdrop. Ry Cooder's music and the character Travis Henderson (played by Harry Dean Stanton) achieve an almost mystic synergy in the movie. Stanton also sang the vocals on the song Canción Mixteca in the film and said of Ry Cooder, and the musician's support: 'I can't stress too much how much Ry Cooder was an influence on me. Having one of the most respected musicians around like my singing really gave me the confidence to do it'. Stanton later provided backing vocals on Ry Cooder's song 'Across the Borderline' on Cooder's 1987 album 'Get Rhythm'. These hand-written lyrics quite possibly date from that initial collaboration during the filming of Paris, Texas, when Harry Dean Stanton was preparing to sing Canción Mixteca and was seeking a closer affinity with Cooder's music. Actor Harry Dean Stanton (Paris, Texas, Repo Man, Alien, Wild at Heart, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Inland Empire) was also a musician and vocalist, singing folk, blues, country and rock and roll, releasing two albums October 1993 with the Cheap Dates (2021) and Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction (2014). Of music, the craggy actor said: 'I had to decide if I wanted to be a singer or an actor. I was always singing. I thought if I could be an actor, I could do all of it.' Fotografie
Vintage borderless reference photograph of director Ridley Scott with a camera crew on the set of the 1979 film. One of the greatest science fiction/horror films ever made, a franchise so rich in themes and expandability that it has generated three sequels and two prequels of comparable (or nearly comparable) artistic merit. The infamous "chest bursting" scene paved the way for future horror films to feature gore in more imaginative ways (but also caused viewers to vomit in theaters upon its initial release). Returning home from a mission, the crew of the spacecraft Nostromo is awakened by the ship's computer to answer a distress signal from a nearby planet. The rescue team discovers a bizarre pod field with pods housing unseen terror. Winner of an Academy Award for Best Effects. 10 x 8 inches. About Fine. National Film Registry. Ebert II.

Vintage reference photograph from the 1973 film, showing a side-by-side comparison of John Dillinger and actor Warren Oates in costume as Dillinger. With a printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. A dramatization of the crimes of folk hero, midwestern bank robber, and notorious mobster John Dillinger, best known for killing five FBI agents during a shootout in Kansas City. Hot on the heels of Arthur Penn's "Bonnie and Clyde" (1967), a movie which reignited the US public's interest in 1930s gangster films. Set and shot on location throughout Arizona and Oklahoma. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, with light creases and curling.

Kristofferson's screen debut, and a show-stealing performance from Harry Dean Stanton (as usual). 8 x 10 inches. About Near Fine.

Draft script for the 1975 film. Annotation in manuscript ink on the front wrapper, noting "We all lost when the studio took this picture away from Peckinpah the hed" (sic). A very nearly experimental Western made by Sam Peckinpah at his peak, sufficiently strange to have remained of interest only to the most intense fans of Western revisionism. Comparable only to "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" (1971) and "The Shooting" (1966) in terms of sheer impressionism being laid upon the genre, with iconic imagery and super-stylization in every frame. Shot on location in Durango, Mexico. Beige titled Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer front wrapper, dated July 7, 1972, with credits for Peckinpah and screenwriter Rudolph Wurlitzer. Missing rear wrapper. Title page integral with front wrapper. 125 leaves, with last page of text numbered 134. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with blue and gray revision pages throughout, dated variously between July 3 and 25, 1972. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good, bound with two gold brads.
