Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First edition. With five drawings by Buckley's flying collegue Lancing Colton 'Denny' Holden DSC, an ace credited with the downing of seven enemy aircraft in the last six weeks of the war. The forward is written by Ernst Udet. Udet was a Squadron Commander in the Pursuit Group led by Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen, the Red Baron. Udet served on the same section of the front as that patrolled by the 95th Squadron, and was the most successful German air ace to survive the war, with 62 enemy aircraft to his name. Although Kahane felt a strong affinity with fellow war veterans, it's unlikely that he would have countenanced the inclusion of expensive photographic plates unless someone else was picking the bill (Pearcon p.130). Spine ends scuffed. First edition inscribed to Genge by the author. 5¾" - 7¾". Inscribed by author. book.
