From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Llye Talbot is an earnest, intrepid inventor of a television system who inadvertently gets involved with a crooked businessman and gangsters out to steal his invention. 10 x 8 inches. Based on the popular radio series "Take It or Leave It" (1940-1949) starring host Phil Baker (which would later become the television game show "The $64,000 Question" [1955-1958]), young sailor Eddie Collins (Edward Ryan) finds out his wife (Madge Meredith) is pregnant while on shore leave and appears on the quiz show to raise money for his wife's obstetrician. Collins chooses "Films" as his category which serves as a framework for a compilation of clips from other Twentieth Century-Fox films.
